The We Love Teachers Fund

The We Love Teachers Fund is the community impact fund of the We Love Teachers Worldwide race platform. A portion of every race registration — in every city, for every in-person and virtual participant — flows directly into the fund. At the end of each year, grants from the fund are awarded to teachers and schools in participating cities for three purposes: teacher wellness, classroom resources, and professional development.The fund is not a donation campaign. It is not a charity add-on. It is a structural commitment built into how the race works — so that every time someone registers to run for a teacher, they are also contributing to something that directly benefits teachers in their community.

How It Works

WHAT HAPPENS

WHEN

 

    1. You register

 

$2 from your registration flows into the We Love Teachers Fund. Virtual participants and in-person runners alike — every entry counts.

Registration opens through October 9

 

    2. You run

 

On October 10th, you run for a teacher. Thousands of people across ten cities and nationwide run simultaneously — all for the same reason.

October 10, 2026

 

    3. Applications     open

 

Teachers and schools in participating cities apply for grants in three categories: teacher wellness, classroom resources, and professional development.

October 11 – November 30

 

    4. Grants are     awarded

 

A review committee selects grant recipients in every participating city. Recipients are notified personally in December.

December 2026

 

    5. The     announcement

 

 

Grant recipients are publicly revealed in January — timed with the announcement of the following year's race.

    6. The money     reaches     classrooms

 

 

Grant funds are disbursed directly to recipients.

What The Fund Supports

Every grant from the We Love Teachers Fund falls into one of three categories — each addressing a gap that teachers and schools navigate every year.

 

 

Ways To Contribute To The Fund

 

 

1.  Register and run.  $2 from every registration flows automatically into the fund. The single most important thing you can do is show up on October 10th.  
2.  Add a donation at registration.  When you register at moveanation.org, you can add a direct donation to the fund — $5, $10, $20, or any amount. 100% goes to teacher grants. Or you can make a donation without registering.
3.  Sponsors.  A portion of every sponsorship goes towards the fund.
